Summary:
This position is responsible for managing the subrogation process for claims where there may be third party liability.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Initiates written requests for information, according to plan documents in order to bring claim to proper disposition.
Protects the Client's interest in recovering third party funds by reviewing all possible claims (referred and from reports) where another party may have a liability on the claim.
Determines if another party has a responsibility to pay a claim and initiate applicable liens and notice of liability.
Sends and responds to all applicable correspondence.
Negotiates settlements.
Responds to members, providers and health plan questions regarding subrogation.
Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Communicates systems issue promptly to the Supervisor's attention.
Provides backup in other areas, based on business need, assists management with special projects or requests.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, licenses and registrations required:
None Computer skills required:
Microsoft Office Suite Other skills required:
o Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, or equivalent, and the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
o Must be able to work independently, be organized, have the ability to multi-task, and demonstrate a proven ability to communicate effectively.
