Network Systems Engineer

We are looking for a Network Systems Engineer who has a strong understanding of VPN and ASA Firewalls. This is an entry level position, and new graduates of Networking/Cisco programs are encouraged to apply.
This position will be the primary firewall and VPN resource for our Integrated Services and Event Monitoring Center operations. You will work closely with IT groups, Physical and Logical Security groups, customers and our EMC Operations team to integrate critical and highly complex networks.
Some essential functions of this position include:
- Assist in the installation, configuration and administration of several local area network and wide area network systems, and related hardware and software, supporting corporate users and customers
- Assist in the integration of Integrated Services and Event Monitoring Center operations with Physical and Logical Security customers
- Assist with Firewall architecture, installation, configuration and administration
- Assist with VPN systems installation, configuration and support
- Assist with Customer connectivity support via Internet VPN, MPLS, or other dedicated network
- Monitor networks, servers, desktop systems and applications on a regular basis using both manual and automated network management and analysis tools in order to identify potential problem areas and ensure prompt corrective action is initiated
- Assist with the detailed technical documentation for network and research system documentation to obtain solutions
- Participate in specialized projects with other functional group
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related study and 2+ years of applicable work experience; or 4+ years of applicable work experience
- Good overall knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies
- Experience with Firewall architecture, installation and configuration
- Knowledge of various networking hardware and software components including switches, routers, firewalls and voice switches
- Knowledgeable/experience with Cisco hardware and software
- Knowledge/experience with ISPs and ISP circuits a plus
- Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret functional requirements and modify our systems to satisfy those requirements
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
