POSITION OVERVIEW: Compiles, analyzes, and maintains inventory records and reports. Works closely with the Director of Finance and Accounting team on all aspects of financial reporting, including financial statement preparation and completion of the annual audit.

This is how you'll be spending your time...

  • Provides maintenance of the inventory item master and branch location records to include verification that product coding follows GIS coding schemes.
  • Works with the Distribution Centers (DC) team leaders to develop DC "best practices" to support maintenance of accurate inventories.
  • Analyzes shipping/invoicing procedures and recommends improvements to support accurate perpetual inventory issuance and general ledger cost recognition.
  • Directs the coordination of physical inventories. Works with distribution center staff and branch operations managers to coordinate cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Prepares reports such as inventory balances, price lists, and shortages.
  • Calculates and reports physical inventory results
  • Compiles and audits inventory variances on a monthly basis.
  • Reconciles inventory to the trial balance
  • Facilitates monthly Inventory Task Force meetings to better identify and implement improvements and efficiencies.
  • Interfaces with Purchasing, Marketing, Branch and DC personnel


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Must have advanced computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel and other office products. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to make effective presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
